Workmanship warranty
Woodchuck Millwork warrants our installation workmanship for one year from project completion. If something goes wrong because of how we built it — loose posts, gate alignment issues, board separation from improper fastening — we come back and fix it at no charge.
What's covered
- Posts that lean or fail at the concrete connection within 12 months
- Gates that sag, won't latch, or self-open within 12 months
- Pickets that pop loose from improper fastening
- Stain application defects (lap marks, peeling within 90 days of application)
- Deck board separation from improper fastening
- Cabinet door alignment within 6 months
- Drawer slide failures from improper installation
What's NOT covered
- Acts of nature: tornadoes, straight-line winds over 60 mph, hail damage, floods
- Damage from sprinkler over-spray, tree damage, vehicle impact
- Owner modifications (adding gates, painting, attaching to fence structure)
- Normal weathering of cedar (graying is natural — re-stain to maintain color)
- Wood movement and seasonal expansion/contraction (expected, not a defect)
- Damage from pets (dog chewing, scratching, urine staining)
Materials warranty (manufacturer pass-through)
Materials we install carry the manufacturer's warranty, which we pass through to you:
- Trex Transcend composite decking: 25-year limited residential fade and stain warranty
- TimberTech AZEK capped polymer: 50-year limited residential warranty
- Cedar lumber: No manufacturer warranty (natural product). Expected service life: 20–25 years with maintenance.
- Pressure-treated pine: 25-year limited warranty against termite damage and decay (treatment chemical company, not us)
- Hardware (hinges, latches, screws): Manufacturer warranty varies by product. Most carry 1–5 year limited warranties.
How to make a claim
Call (214) 793-2422 or email woodchuckmillwork@gmail.com with photos and a brief description. We'll schedule a site visit within 1 week. If the issue is within warranty scope, we fix it at no cost. If it's outside scope (acts of nature, etc.), we'll provide a repair quote.
The bigger commitment
The warranty is a baseline. The bigger commitment is that we live and work in the same suburbs you do — Josh is at the grocery store in Allen, the crew passes your neighborhood on the way to the shop. Reputation in a single-crew local trade is built one corrected install at a time. If something's wrong, we want to fix it.
